Overview

The restaurant menu app for Hotel Boica allows guests to access the menu at any time of day. Each hotel room includes a QR code with a link to the menu so that guests may quickly access it. We'll improve the app next season so that guests may order meals directly from their rooms!

Process

The Beginning

The process started in 2021 on the beautiful island of Šipan. We had a meeting with the director of Hotel Božica where we went through all their troubles regarding the restaurant menu. The main problem was that guests who check in late can't go to the restaurant to see the menu.

Preparation Phase

The Preparation phase started with the building of the back-end. While building the back-end, we kept the UX and UI in mind since we wanted our clients to have the best experience when importing their tours into the system.


Hotel Božica's back-end system is build using a Laravel PHP framework that can handle a large number of requests over a short time.

Agile Design & Development

The design and development process took a couple of weeks. Each week we focused on building and finishing new modules in the system: meal setup, menu setup and responsive front page where guests can see the menu.


Special attention was given to the mobile responsiveness so guests who doesn't have a computer can easily access the restaurant menu.

Conclusion

The main goal was to build a web application where restaurant guests and hotel users can see whats on the menu.
